Soon after Alex left the BB house, news broke that he had become a dad, and now, Alex has introduced his little girl and explained his reasons for keeping her arrival close to his chest.
Speaking to new! magazine, Alex revealed it feels "really surreal" having become a dad for the first time.
He was forced to miss out on Mila's birth, as she was born just before he appeared on Big Brother. She had been due at the very end of June, but was born prematurely, meaning Alex was unable to see Mila for the first month of her life.
Explaining how that felt, he said: "It was literally daily torture for me, playing it through my mind, wondering what she looked like. It was tough while I was in there. I was getting regular updates privately in the Diary Room on how she was doing, but I wasn't allowed to leave and go see her."
Alex (who is best pals with Vicky Pattison) admitted that he had struggled with the news he was going to become a dad at first, as he didn't feel like he was ready to have a child. That was partly his reason for not publicly speaking about Mila during his time on BB, as he admits he was still "trying to deal" with it all himself, and that he wanted to respect his daughter's mum.
28-year-old Alex revealed that he and Mila's mum (whose identity he is choosing to keep private) had been seeing each other "casually" for about a year, when she fell pregnant. While he insists things have remained "good" between them, he has said they are no longer together and hasn't yet thought about whether they could now rekindle things.
"Anytime I see her, Mila's there so my eyes fixate on Mila," he said. "When I've got her in my arms, I literally don't want to put her down."
Alex explained that he had supported Mila's mum as much as he could throughout her pregnancy and going forward he wants to be "as involved as he can be" when it comes to his baby girl.
