Gaz Beadle has hit out at ITV2 dating show Love Island, accusing it of being a "carbon copy" of Geordie Shore and Ex On The Beach...

Love Island's second series was a hit with viewers and its ratings even saw the show beat the likes of Big Brother, but not everyone appears to be a fan. Especially not Gaz.

He has now had his say on Love Island and he thinks the show is nothing new, as everything that happens has all been seen before on MTV.

Speaking to The Sun, Gary said: "All it is is just a carbon copy of Geordie Shore and Ex On The Beach. ITV know they've got to get young, good-looking people in to have sex, get drunk, argue with each other and fight - and that's what we've been doing on Geordie Shore for five years."

Gaz also hit out at the show's stars and insisted that their romances won't last - even if Love Island has seen six couples come out of the show this series.

Kady McDermott and Scott Thomas are still together, along with Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen, Sophie Gradon and Tom Powell, Rykard Jenkins and Rachel Fenton, Terry Walsh and Emma-Jane Woodhams and show winners Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde.

Gaz, however, isn't convinced their relationships are genuine.

"Let them do what they want, they'll only be famous for three months," he added. "They get papped together and they're like, "We're going so well.' Everyone else is like, 'No you aren't.' They've got this delusional thought that if they stay together they'll do well, but they won't."

A little harsh?

As for our islanders, their smitten selfies, Snapchats and social media posts would suggest that they are genuinely as loved-up as they seem.

Some have even hit back at claims they are putting on a 'showmance.' Olivia recently told Reveal: "No way, that's bulls**t. Maybe with other couples but for me and Alex it isn't a showmance. If I wanted that I'd have gone for someone else. I love him and he's beautiful."

Like Olivia, Kady defended her relationship with Scott and exclusively told us: "If anyone can do a showmance for six weeks in that environment, then they need an Oscar!"

She added that she and Scott are now "stronger than ever" following their time together in the Love Island villa.
