TOWIE newcomer Amber Dowding has claimed the cast of the show are told NOT to get involved in online spats with social media trolls.

It's not uncommon to see our famous faces hitting back at their negative critics, but according to Amber (who is dating her co-star Chris Clark), TOWIE producers would prefer the cast to hold their tongue when it comes to responding to the not-so-nice comments they may be subject to.

She recently told Daily Star: "The producers say to ignore things like that and don't get into spats."

Amber joined TOWIE this series and since making her debut, she has seen the number of followers she has on her social media pages dramatically increase. She revealed that she has already been subject to a few negative comments here and there, but so far, they haven't seemed to phase her.

She added: "I've had a few bad comments about my eyelashes and people calling me a clown, but I've laughed them off."

And Amber's not the only one. Just recently, Danielle Armstrong revealed she had "horrendous comments" posted about her online, after photographs surfaced of her in a bikini, standing next to her co-star Megan McKenna.

Danni admitted that the comments had got her down and said: "I literally just read every single comment and they were so nasty! 'She looks like a man, fat, tree trunk legs, ugly.' It really got to me and I didn't want to leave the room and go film, especially in a bikini on the beach. I just had a really bad day."

Although Danni did add: "I'm fine now. I'm completely over it. I mean, I just had a cup of tea and Jaffa cakes! I'm curvy and I'm going to embrace it."
