TOWIE star Chris Clark has been joking over his decision to make his relationship with co-star Amber Dowding official.

Fans recently watched Chris and Amber take the next step when it comes to their romance, with Chris finally plucking up the courage to ask Amber to be his girlfriend.

Recalling the moment in a new video shared on TOWIE's official site, Chris joked: "I've just sold my life away to this girl..."

Although, he did quickly add: "I've made it official with Amber which I'm really happy about."

Prior to joining the show, Amber had gushed that things were going "really well" between herself and Chris and predicted that the pair would become boyfriend and girlfriend fairly soon.

Now that he's finally asked her, she said: "It's been a long f**king time coming. He finally did it! I was expecting it to happen soon, but no today. It was a nice surprise. So girls, hands off now because he actually is mine."

Reassuring Amber that he isn't going anywhere, Chris added: "There are no girls anyway. I've only had eyes for her."

N'awww.

Chris admitted that his romance with Amber is his "first proper relationship" and revealed he is excited to tell his mum that the pair have finally put a label on things.

"She really likes Amber, so I think she'll be happy for me," Chris said. "My brother as well."

Amber wasn't so convinced and claimed that Chris' brother Jon Clark would be "half and half" about their news. She said: "I think he'll be like, 'Right, that's even less time I get to spend with my brother.'"

Chris then suggested: "Jon has got to up his game now and find himself someone so we can go out on double dates."

Jon had pursued Chloe Sims, but the pair decided in the end to just be friends.

As for the other couples in Essex, Chris and Amber have a feeling not all of them will be pleased to hear about them making it official, and claimed some may be "threatened" instead.

Chris said: "Some people will be happy for us... Georgia and Tommy will be happy for us. Georgia will probably be planning a double date as we speak... but we're young, we're a good-looking couple and we're the new couple on the block.

"Time will tell, but sometimes some couples don't like seeing you do well... I don't really care. If you're happy, you're happy."

TOWIE continues Wednesday 3 August at 10pm on ITVBe.
