The boys have fallen out in recent weeks, with Dan accusing Tommy of inviting his ex-girlfriend Kate Wright to dinner with him, his girlfriend Georgia Kousoulou and a business partner, and not telling Dan about it. He claims Tommy got "defensive" when he questioned him about it and told him not to call him again.
Tommy, meanwhile, has said he wouldn't think to tell Dan about Kate being at dinner with him because a) friends should trust each other and b) nothing had gone on: Kate and Georgia had been dining at the same restaurant so joined Tommy's table. He also claims Dan has been inviting him out less and he's being left out.
There was a row off-camera when Dan bumped into Georgia outside Sugar Hut and asked her to make Tommy "calm down" a bit, and Tommy then stormed out to confront Dan when Georgia came to him crying.
It all led to a confrontation during Wednesday night's episode (27 July) in which Tommy apologised for his behaviour but Dan said they'd never go back to their previous friendship.
Now, talking to the TOWIE official website, Dan has said: "My point is the whole thing started as such a minor thing I couldn't really understand what he was annoyed about and then it sort of escalated into something so much bigger.
"It's not an unforgivable thing, I just feel the way he acted with me in Sugar Hut… I wouldn't do that with my mates or imagine them doing it to me. So it's not an unforgivable thing but as I said to Tommy, it just changes things naturally. I'm not being petty about it or trying to carry something on."
Dan admitted perhaps Tommy's right he isn't being asked out as much, saying as wrong as it may be, sometimes the boys do just presume Tommy will be busy with Georgia.
"It's not done purposefully," said Dan. "We just don't talk as much. Maybe Tommy sees that as me dropping him out or intentionally doing it, but I would be lying to him if I stood there and said, 'I accept your apology, let's go back to normal' because I know it won't go back to normal."
Dan added: "I'm not going to make it awkward. I'll say hello to him and everything, but after that happens with one of your mates, it does push it too far and it naturally changes things and things will be different."
TOWIE continues Sunday at 10pm on ITVBe.
