Ex-TOWIE star Ferne McCann has confirmed she is single, but she isn't ruling out the possibility of a summer romance.

Over the last few months, Ferne has found herself at the centre of romance rumours. She was linked to Tottenham Hotspur footballer Dele Alli, another top footballer and Essex boy Arthur Collins, but Ferne has insisted there has been nothing going on and she is getting "bored" of the latest claims about her love life.

When we caught up with Ferne recently, she exclusively told us she is still single: "No. I'm not seeing anyone."

That doesn't mean to say, though, that she isn't open to finding somebody new.

When we asked Ferne if she was on the lookout for love, she explained: "I don't really have a plan for my love life. I have a plan for my career, but the love life just kind of happens.

"I don't think you can plan such things, but we'll see. I'm quite busy, but the summer is always a good time to be single and ready to mingle. Who knows? I love a little festival... I may meet someone there!"

If romance does come her way, we many not be getting a slew of updates from Ferne, as she admits she would want to keep her relationship fairly private.

Having had her love life onscreen in the past, thanks to TOWIE, Ferne knows all about the pressures that come with it and has said she is looking forward to having a relationship away from the cameras.

She and her ex-boyfriend Charlie Sims had both starred on the reality show together, and he shockingly split with her via Twitter, while announcing his exit from The Only Way Is Essex in March 2015.

Ferne added: "I would definitely keep things away from the [public] to begin with. Funnily enough, I do actually like to be private. Not many would think that, me coming from TOWIE, but it's a private and personal thing [being in a relationship], isn't it? I don't want to share it with everyone from the get go."

Ferne announced she had quit TOWIE in February, earlier this year.
