Love Island stars Nathan Massey and Cara de la Hoyde have said they would be open to joining the cast of TOWIE, if the opportunity ever came up...

Rumours have been rife that this year's winning couple could be returning to our screens and joining our Essex faves, but catching up with Nathan and Cara they admit, at the minute, they haven't yet been asked.

That, however, doesn't mean that they are not interested...

Oh, no!

In fact, Cara and Nathan told Reveal that they would be very much open to making their TOWIE debut. After all, it hasn't been unheard of - Jon Clark from last year's Love Island series is now a castmember and Megan McKenna has jumped ship from Ex On The Beach, plus Cara and Nathan already have connections to the show.

Believe it or not, but Cara has admitted she was an extra on the show "years ago" and Nathan is actually best friends with TOWIE fave Tommy Mallet.

Yup, he and Tommy go way back and fans will know that Tommy and his girlfriend Georgia Kousoulou had been rooting for Nathan and Cara right up until their Love Island win.

Speaking of potentially joining Tommy and Georgia on TOWIE, Cara said: "People have spoken about, Nathan is very good friends with Tommy, but no one has contacted us directly."

Nathan then added: "[If the opportunity came up] of course we would give it a go. It's bettering your life, isn't it? Who wouldn't want to better their life? What a great way to do it.

"Obviously I'm good friends with Tommy and Georgia, so that's a way in there... it would be nice."

If TOWIE doesn't come off, though, the couple do have another plan they hope they can pursue - their very own spinoff show.

Love Island fans called for Nathan and Cara to have their own show after watching them in the villa, and Cara admitted it would be something she and Nathan would be keen to do.

She said: "We would love that."

Nathan, meanwhile, said: "It would be a great laugh. I think we've got the minerals for it to have our own show. It makes me happy that we must have put on a good show."

"We must have done something right," Cara joked.

Someone PLEASE make this happen...
