Love Island's Olivia Buckland and Alex Bowen have said they'd definitely have shared the £50,000 prize money if they'd won the show.

The couple finished in second place on Monday night (11 July) behind Cara de la Hoyde and Nathan Massey, who also opted to share the prize cash after confirming they were in it for the love not money.

The couple did a Q&A with ITV2's Facebook on Wednesday.

Taking part in a Facebook Q&A, Alex said: "100 per cent [we would have shared it]. I think if anyone didn't share that money they'd be ruined for the rest of their life!"

Olivia added: "I'd push them straight in the pool!"

Love Island Final 2016: Nathan and Cara

Cara and Nathan won.

Olivia and Alex said they were full of love for co-stars Nathan and Cara, saying they were "the most deserving winners" ever and they'd last the distance.

"Obviously there's no such thing as a perfect couple but Nathan and Cara are soulmates and they just get each other," said Alex.

"I didn't even expect to get to the final. I thought we'd be fourth, we weren't, then third, we weren't. To be up on that stage with Nathan and Cara, whoever won, all four of us said we were just happy for whoever won.

Olivia added: "They were our best friends in there so to be at that point with them… they are perfect for each other and the most deserving winners ever."
