Professional dancer Aliona quit Strictly last year after her win with Jay McGuinness, however sources have claimed she is feeling "bored" and is itching to make a comeback.
The insider told The Mirror that Aliona is in talks with Strictly bosses over a new choreography role, along with being standby if any dancers get injured during the new series.
"She realised she was a bit hasty in her decision to quit," the source said.
Aliona was partnered with The Wanted's Jay last year and the couple waltzed to victory, taking home the Glitterball trophy.
However, she decided to hang up her Strictly ballroom shoes once the show was over and, at the time, it was said she wanted to focus on her private life with her husband Vincent Kavanagh.
Meanwhile, while Aliona is in talks to return, fellow professional dancer Gleb Savchenko quit Strictly Come Dancing last month.
Gleb, who has appeared on the current series of Celebrity MasterChef, released a statement on Twitter, explaining that he too was leaving due to "family commitments".
He said: "I thoroughly enjoyed taking part on the last series of Strictly Come Dancing and especially the way that the UK gave me such a warm welcome, but due to family commitments, I won't be returning to the show for the next series.
"I'll definitely be tuning in though."
Gleb only joined the show last year and was partnered with Countryfile presenter Anita Rani.
