Earlier today (5 July), Chantelle posted a controversial message on Twitter which read: "Strippers get paid £100k a year & driving your dream car & here you are struggling cuz you got morals [sic]."
However, the post did not generate quite the reaction Chantelle appeared to be hoping for. One critic blasted: "So she's saying she has no morals? Hah yeah fabulous..." Perplexed, another asked: "Weren't you one before?"
Chantelle was then forced to take to Twitter to defend her post, insisting that people had misunderstood what she had meant by it.
She raged: "Don't think people got my last quote, obviously I used to be a stripper that's why I found it funny! Some ppl wow. God give me strength."
Ramping up the heat, Chantelle then added: "Was a stripper and proud!! Don't mean u don't have morals, small minded hating b*tches - kiss my stripper ass."
Although she had attempted to clear the air, Chantelle then received yet more hate, so hit back: "'Chantelle your such a chav' b*ch please, tell me sumik I don't no [sic]."
Last month, Chantelle quit Geordie Shore despite having already begun filming abroad for the new series.
Following her return to the UK, Chantelle revealed her exit was after huge bust-ups with co-stars Gaz Beadle, Chloe Ferry and Marty McKenna.
"I've left on very bad terms with Marty, Chloe and Gary," she said. "I wouldn't p*ss on them if they were on fire." Ouch.
