The car salesman from Bexley, 23, was sent packing on Tuesday night (5 July) after newcomer Lauren Whiteside chose to couple with Adam Jukes, after dating both Troy and Adam J and choosing her favourite.
She chose Adam J, meaning Troy's time in the villa was up.
Troy and Adam J were left single in the latest recoupling after Katie Salmon and Sophie Gradon chose to form a same-sex couple for the first time in the show's history.
A text then arrived saying a new islander was waiting in the hideaway and, after meeting both Troy and Adam J, would have the power to save one and eliminate the other.
The newbie's identity was kept a mystery on Monday night, leading to speculation ex-cast mate Zara Holland could be returning, but tonight she was revealed to be events manager Lauren from Blackpool.
Lauren admitted to fancying both Troy and Adam J ahead of their dates (as well as Adam Maxted, although he's coupled with Tina Stinnes as friends and has his eye on a romantic union with Katie).
And with both dates going well, she was left with a difficult decision to make. By choosing Adam J, they've now formed a new coupling, meaning the current couples are:
Kady and Scott
Cara and Nathan
Katie and Sophie
Tina and Adam M
Emma and Terry
Olivia and Alex
Lauren and Adam J
Troy had initially arrived at the villa alongside model Oliver Maxwell Fernandez, and both men had just one day to impress the female islanders enough to secure just one spot in the villa.
They chose to save Troy and dump Oliver, saying Troy's blossoming bond with then-single Tina had been a factor, as they wanted to give the pair's relationship the chance to grow.
Troy then coupled with Tina (giving her immunity from elimination) but things fizzled out and in Monday's recoupling, she chose to couple Adam M as a friend, saying she felt most comfortable with him, paving the way for Troy's eventual exit.
Love Island airs nightly at 9pm on ITV2.
