After sleeping with Alex Bowen in the Love Island villa, Zara was controversially stripped of her Miss Great Britain crown, as organisers claimed she had previously agreed not to have sex on TV prior to her reality debut.
On finding out the news, Zara admitted she was "devastated" and has said she "regrets" her actions with Alex in the hideaway. While some agreed that Zara should have lost her crown, many have spoken out against Miss GB's decision, with fans signing a petition for Zara to be given her title back.
Now, Zara has revealed that despite losing her title, she still has her crown and she is hoping to put it to good use.
Speaking to FUBAR radio, Zara said: "I still have my crown, I don't have to give it back!" She then added: "I was thinking I should maybe auction it or raffle it off for charity or something."
Zara reiterated during her interview that she had "made a mistake" with Alex and had got caught in the moment with him.
Recalling the moment she was informed of Miss Great Britain's decision, Zara said: "It was the worst news of my life. It was honestly awful… when you work so hard for something. I didn't really believe a lot in myself at all and when you put in all that time and effort, you win and then everything you've worked so hard for, from one silly mistake, has been taken away from you.
"I was the last person to find out, it felt like the whole world had found out before me. I had such a great bond with the guys at Miss Great Britain, I just think what's a phone call to explain the reasons and have a chat. No [it wasn't well handled]."
Zara revealed that she has spoken once to the organisers of the beauty pageant, but added: "Right now I don't really want to speak to them. It's all still very raw. You didn't actually see me having sex on TV, that's the thing. I could have kept my mouth shut... "
At the time, Miss Great Britain had issued a statement to announce Zara's de-throning, explaining that she could no longer be considered a role model for the pageant.
They then claimed that Zara had made a promise not to have sex on TV with organisers, but "knowingly went against their wishes. While Zara has claimed she wasn't told to refrain from doing so, Miss GB have said they and Zara had made a "verbal agreement."
"Zara did not receive a 'letter of permission' personally, we verbally agreed her inclusion and the fact that she would not engage in any sexual activity on the show."
Zara's title has now been passed on to the 2015/2016 runner up Deone Robertson.
