Rylan Clark-Neal will co-host this year's Xtra Factor.

The worst kept news in showbiz was announced by Rylan on today's This Morning… just a few days after he remained mega tight-lipped when quizzed by Holly and Philip about the job!

He'll co-host with Matt Edmondson.

X Factor: Rylan announces on This Morning he's new co-host of Xtra Factor

Rylan said: "I'm very honoured and over the moon to say after four years of being away I'm going back to the Xtra Factor to host that alongside Matt Edmondson. We get on so well and are literally over the moon."

He added: "I want to reassure everyone I'm not leaving Big Brother. I love it with all my heart. I'm not leaving This Morning, I'll just be working like a dog!"

A video message was then played from Nicole Scherzinger, who mentored Rylan during his time on X factor, who said she was very proud of him and looking forward to working alongside him on the new series, which she's judging.

Eamonn Holmes described the news as "fabulous."

He was in series nine.

Earlier this week, Rylan had been grilled about whether he'd be joining the show, but kept silent, instead trying to change the topic to One Direction!

Rylan had said: "And talking of The X Factor, the lovely Matt Edmondson he's been announced as the new host of The Xtra Factor."

Phillip then interjected to say: "I have a feeling that there are more legs on this story... long legs on this story. I think there is more to come."

Holly added: "I, funnily, enough have that feeling too. I don't think he is flying solo on this. I think there may be a bit of double action going on."

Rylan changed topic: "Let's talk about One Direction..."

So suspicious! And we were right to be suspic!

Rylan, 27, found fame on the ninth series of X Factor in 2012 and has gone on to forge a successful presenting career. As well as his showbiz slot on This Morning, he hosts Big Brother's Bit On The Side and his own Channel 5 talk show Up Late With Rylan.

Auditions for X Factor are currently taking place around the country, with the show returning to ITV later this year.

As well as new Xtra Factor hosts, we'll see the return of Dermot O'Leary as the main show's presenter, and a judging panel of Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

Meanwhile, Radio 1's Matt said this week he was thrilled to be hosting Xtra Factor... and there is a MAJOR twist as the show will be going live from episode one!

"This year, for the first year ever, the Xtra Factor is going live on ITV2 from the first show," he said. "From the beginning of the series, we will be live - it's a bit terrifying - on ITV2 after every single episode. That means when you watch the show, I'll be watching the show then we can get together afterwards and have a big chat about it.

"As well as that we've got lots of exclusive backstage auditions, some stuff that happens here that you won't usually see, we'll have some famous faces and, of course, we'll be chatting to the judges."
