Pregnant Stephanie Davis has fought back and insisted she is a "strong girl" after she was accused of drinking a pint of beer.

Earlier today, we told how this weekend Stephanie had been pictured sitting outside a pub while holding a glass of what appeared to be alcohol.

However, the former Hollyoaks star - who is expecting her first baby - has insisted that she was merely "taking a sip" of a friend's drink, and that she was not having a "boozy night out".

Stephanie has now taken to Twitter again and warned critics they would "loose it" if they spent a day in her shoes.

In response to a fan's tweet, which was about Stephanie's life in the spotlight being "twisted", Stephanie said: "So true, wish the [haters] would try being me for a day at the mo! They would lose it. I'm a strong girl though."

Stephanie announced her pregnancy last month and the news came following a fourth split from former Celebrity Big Brother co-star Jeremy McConnell, who has said the child isn't his.

But sources close to Stephanie have told Reveal: "These accusations are causing great stress to Stephanie. Treating a pregnant woman like this is totally unfair, given all the changes she is going through. For Jeremy to say he isn't the father is going to backfire on him totally. He should reign in what he is saying because he will have serious egg on his face when the baby is born."

Speaking to OK magazine in May, Steph said: "My pregnancy was a shock but I can't wait to be a mum. I hope that Jeremy will want to be a part of this baby's life, but if he decides not to then I am prepared to raise our baby on my own."

Earlier this month, Stephanie hit back after a Twitter user accused her of faking the pregnancy. "You're not even pregnant," said the poster. "We're all just waiting for the inevitable 'miscarriage horror' story. You're a mess."

Stephanie replied: "Absolutely disgusting! This is why I'm not sharing any photo [sic] as there's so many vile people! I've been under enough stress."
