ITV announced via the show's official Twitter accounts that both programmes would not air to make room for continuous news coverage of the historic referendum result.
This Morning's account tweeted: "As Britain has voted to leave the European Union ITV will be replacing @itvthismorning with continuous news coverage of the historic vote."
Meanwhile, Loose Women's account added: "Due to the #Brexit vote, @ITV will be airing rolling news coverage this morning and there will be no live Loose Women today."

The results of the EU referendum came through this morning, with 52% of Britain voting to quit the European Union against 48% who chose to remain within the EU.
Prime Minister David Cameron - who wanted Britain to remain within the EU - has announced he will resign following the result, saying "fresh leadership" is needed.
"I fought this campaign in the only way I know how, which is to say directly and passionately what I think and feel, head, heart and soul. I held nothing back. I was absolutely clear about my belief that Britain is stronger, safer and better off inside the European Union, and I made clear the referendum was abut this and this alone, not the future of any single politician, including myself," he said.
"But the British people have made a very clear decision to take a different path and, as such, I think the country requires fresh leadership to take it io this direction. I will do everything I can as prime minister to steady the ship in the coming weeks and months, but I do not think it would right for me to try to be the captain who steers our country to the next destination."
