The 20-year-old departed the villa over the weekend after getting a call to say her mum Cheryl had been taken to hospital. It came just two days after she was stripped of her Miss Great Britain title for having sex with Alex Bowen.
Speaking to Reveal today, Zara said: "She's much better, thank you. It was a really scary time for us all but she's doing a lot better."
But that doesn't mean she'll be rushing back to the villa…
When Zara left, producers said the door was open for her return, as she hadn't been voted out by the public. But Zara told us she's not planning on going back right now.
"I have no immediate plans to return to the villa," she said.
"It's lovely they've kept the door open for me. I wouldn't change anything in the villa but, obviously, if I could go back in time I would change the night that happened with Alex. But I had the most amazing time in there. We're all a little family and it was mega. And I loved the challenges."
"I had the best time of my life and love everyone," she added.
What about a future series of Love Island? Would she return and start again from episode one? "Oh, I don't know! That hasn't been offered to me!"
We couldn't help asking if she'd ever try to find love on TV again, or whether she'll be sticking to off-camera romance. "I just think you never know," she told us. "Right now clearly isn't my time to find anybody! But never rule it out!"
Love Island continues 9pm on ITV2.
