Stephanie Davis has reportedly vowed she's going to be a "brill momma" in a series of now-deleted tweets about being single and pregnant.

The ex-Hollyoaks actress announced in May that she's expecting her first child, but ex-boyfriend Jeremy McConnell has publicly cast doubt on whether he is the father.

According to Daily Star, Stephanie tweeted and deleted about being single, after telling Twitter followers she'd just watched the movie How To Be Single.

The film follows Dakota Johnson's character Alice, who is on a break from her long-term boyfriend. She meets outgoing Robin, played by Rebel Wilson, who shows her how much it can be as a single woman in New York.

Stephanie shared this photo yesterday.

Stephanie, 23, tweeted: "Just watched How To Be Single, cracking film, ladies get onto it. The time was have to be single is time to be good alone, on your own..."

She then reportedly added - and deleted - the message: "And I've finally mastered that I may be on my own yeah but it's better to be alone than chance people who don't care. I'm gonna be a brill momma (sic)."

The messages are no longer on Steph's account.

Stephanie has instead been telling fans she can't stop shopping for her new arrival, sharing the spoils of her buying and saying: "Someone stop me… No more shopping for a while! Im SO EXCITED & I'm so lucky, I cannot wait to meet you little one (sic)."

With Jeremy in February.

The pregnant actress set tongues wagging last week that a daughter is on the way when she used the word 'she' while discussing her bump over the weekend. But she later said: "Guys, I always say she but I don't know if it's a boy OR girl yet, time will tell."

Jeremy, meanwhile, has told Ireland's TV Now: "I'm not going to be a dad. If she is pregnant, it's not mine. If I was a dad, I'd be 100% no, 110%, the best dad in the world. But you'll see in the future that it's not my kid, and she'll look like a mug."

Sources close to Stephanie later told Reveal that Jeremy's denial is "totally unfair" on the soap star.

"These accusations are causing great stress to Stephanie. Treating a pregnant woman like this is totally unfair, given all the changes she is going through," said an insider. "For Jeremy to say he isn't the father is going to backfire on him totally. He should reign in what he is saying because he will have serious egg on his face when the baby is born."

Stephanie and Jeremy split for a fourth time in May.
