The pregnant ex-Hollyoaks actress set tongues wagging that a daughter is on the way when she used the word 'she' while discussing her bump over the weekend.
But Steph, 23, has now spoken out to say that while she does refer to her baby using a feminine pronoun, she hasn't learned the sex.
"Guys, I always say she but I don't know if it's a boy OR girl yet, time will tell," she tweeted on Monday, alongside a blue heart emoji and a red heart emoji.
The tweet that sparked the speculation was posted on Sunday, after Stephanie told fans she had felt her child kicking.
"My baby healthy, little heart pumping and beating, and wriggling away !! Feet kicking tap dancing hypo baby can't describe that feeling," she tweeted. "Either gonna be a dancer like me the way them feet were going, or the next top footballer ha smile from ear to ear!!!"
Stephanie revealed in May that she's expecting her first child, but her ex-boyfriend, Irish model Jeremy McConnell, 26, has publicly claimed he doesn't believe the unborn baby is his.
Jeremy told Ireland's TV Now: "I'm not going to be a dad. If she is pregnant, it's not mine. If I was a dad, I'd be 100% no, 110%, the best dad in the world. But you'll see in the future that it's not my kid, and she'll look like a mug."
"Look, if she is pregnant it's not my kid. She had her period. We had been broken up."
Sources close to Stephanie have told Reveal that Jeremy's denial is "totally unfair."
"These accusations are causing great stress to Stephanie. Treating a pregnant woman like this is totally unfair, given all the changes she is going through," said an insider. "For Jeremy to say he isn't the father is going to backfire on him totally. He should reign in what he is saying because he will have serious egg on his face when the baby is born."
Stephanie and Jeremy split for a fourth time in May.
