Earlier this month, Charlotte confirmed her exit from the MTV reality show, leading many to speculate whether she will be replaced by a new castmember next series.
Reports have claimed Sophie could be making a comeback, with a source telling The Sun: "Sophie can't wait to return to Geordie Shore, it's a dream come true for her!"
They continued: "She didn't think it would ever happen, but the Geordie Shore cast are like family to her and she can't wait to be reunited with them, it's just a shame Charlotte won't be there."
Charlotte announced her decision to quit via Twitter, days after revealing she had been hospitalised with internal bleeding, following an ectopic pregnancy. Charlotte revealed she had to undergo urgent surgery to remove her torn fallopian tube, and it took place while her ex-beau Gaz Beadle was filming for Ex On The Beach's new series.
Charlotte said that Gary had been "lovely" to her when she told him about the pregnancy, but she later realised they were not meant to be.
Initially Gary stayed silent on the pregnancy, but later shared his side of the story in a penned column for Daily Star. He accused Charlotte of going public with the pregnancy when their management had vowed to stay silent, while she accused him of not admitting he was "in the wrong" when it came to the breakdown of their romance.
The pair fell out publicly on Twitter, with Charlotte telling fans her reasons for leaving Geordie Shore were partly so she could avoid Gaz.
The source added: "Sophie is really not happy about the way Gaz has treated her best mate... He only made things worse in her eyes."
When contacted by Reveal, a spokesperson for MTV had no comment to make.
Sophie was an original castmember on Geordie Shore, and made her debut when the show premiered on MTV back in 2011. She starred on the show for seven series, before she was axed in 2013.
Reports alleged at the time that Sophie had been axed from Geordie Shore for "offensive behaviour." She is believed to have made an offensive comment, leading bosses to remove her from the house as they thought it "inappropriate for Sophie to return."
Fans recently saw Sophie make a comeback to Geordie Shore for its five year special. Sophie starred on Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle, along with several returning stars - including James Tindale, Kyle Christie, Jay Gardner and Ricci Guarnaccio.
