Former TOWIE star Gemma Collins has credited Celebrity Big Brother for helping her to make some drastic, but needed, changes to her life.

Gemma starred on the Channel 5 reality show earlier this year, alongside Stephanie Davis, Jeremy McConnell, Scotty T and Megan McKenna. She was evicted from the house just before the live final, and looking back on her time on CBB, she admits it has been a "big wake up call."

Speaking exclusively to Reveal, Gemma explained her time in the CBB house helped her to re-evaluate herself as a person.

She said: "Doing Big Brother was a big wake up call. TOWIE had been a massive comfort zone for me, but I was for them as well - they always knew I could pull out an argument or deliver bad news."

"I had a lot of time to reflect after CBB," she added. "I just thought, 'I am not this person. Where has this person even come from?' I had so many negative people around me. I had personal problems."

Deciding to cull any negativity that had been surrounding her, Gemma told us: "I just had to get rid of it all. It does give you a clearer in mind."

Since Celebrity Big Brother, Gemma has kept herself fairly out of radar. Asides from a brief cameo appearance on TOWIE, we haven't heard much from the Essex star - although she did share a video update with fans on Twitter recently.

While promoting her new clothing collection, Gemma suggested she was on the lookout for love.

She told her followers: "Girls, I'm wearing my tribal print kaftan today. I'm hoping to wear this around Brentwood and meet a nice, hot man!"

Gemma has also hinted that we could be seeing her life played out on the big screen too. She revealed back in April that there had been interest in adapting her life story to a movie.

Gemma revealed: "Lots of people have heard my story and said I should make it a movie. I didn't believe them at first but I've actually had meetings with potential filmmakers and it seems like it really could go ahead."
