Ex-TOWIE star Mario recently told Daily Star Online that he had been friends with Stephanie in the past, but was confused by her recent behaviour.
"I don't really get her at the moment. The girl I used to be friends with and knew would never do anything like she is now. I guess she is sensitive, but the girl needs help.
"It's not going to end well, she needs support."
Stephanie, 23, referenced his interview when responding on Twitter to Celebrity Big Brother co-star Christopher Maloney voicing his disgust that she was recently targeted by a "troll" on Twitter.
"Ignore them, I just laugh now," she told Chris. "And Mario piping up coz he's not known anymore cloning onto anyone. for a headline I see it all as a compliment. There all taking time out to talk about me. (sic)"
Mario, 28, later followed up on Twitter by stating: "Saying she needs help isn't slagging someone off... It's true.. A lovely girl is on the verge of a meltdown. She's not my friend anymore.. As the story states.. And she piped up on here so I responded when asked in an interview."
Ex-Hollyoaks actress Stephanie had tweeted Mario in May, saying: "Ooo mario please please don't chat me up for years and wind Sam up, even Jeremy... U clearly wanted me all to myself happy new year (sic)."
Mario was quick to respond and appeared to hit back at Steph's claims. He replied: "You actually need medical help... I have screenshots of everything... Please leave me out of your meltdown."
Stephanie, however, continued to claim Mario had tried it on with her while she was with Sam and Jeremy, adding she'd even been introduced to Mario's beloved nephew Buddy, the son of Tom and Giovanna Fletcher.
She said: "I'll destroy you. @samreece even he will say how much of a sly pr*ck you are... Here's w few messages after being out with Jeremy and which I never told him of you wanting me... Shall I tweet and finish you off... (sic)"
Mario tweeted: "Not even going to bother responding.. I actually feel really sorry for the girl... How many more red flags till her family help her? Shame."
Following her fourth split with former Celebrity Big Brother co-star Jeremy McConnell last month, Stephanie confirmed her pregnancy - but Jeremy has said the child isn't his.
Speaking to OK magazine, Steph said: "My pregnancy was a shock but I can't wait to be a mum. I hope that Jeremy will want to be a part of this baby's life, but if he decides not to then I am prepared to raise our baby on my own."
