Pregnant Maria Fowler has hit out this evening after it was suggested her choice of cot bedding was not "stimulating" enough for a newborn.

Former TOWIE star Maria, who is expecting her first baby with boyfriend Kelvin Batey, had taken to Twitter to ask for help on finding champagne coloured bedding that doesn't feature a teddy bear design.

However, after posting her callout, one user replied and suggested her decision to avoid patterns would mean her baby girl may not be "stimulated enough". The poster has now deleted her tweet.

Reading her message, a clearly disgruntled Maria replied: "What? Stitched on teddy bears lol. She has more than enough in there to stimulate her. Perfect parent brigade out again!"

Mum-to-be Maria, who now works as a beauty and make-up blogger, announced hers and Kelvin's happy baby news in March.

A month later, Maria revealed she and Kelvin are expecting a little girl by posting an Instagram picture of pink baby clothes. She gushed: "So excited to let you all know me and @KelvinBatey555 are expecting a baby girl. The preparation has begun."

Last week, the couple enjoyed a romantic baby-moon to Greece, where Maria treated fans to some new photos of her growing bump.
