George Shelley could be returning to his X Factor roots, according to reports.

The former Union J band member, who found fame on The X Factor in 2012, has apparently been lined up for a new job with spin-off show The Xtra Factor.

When: 28th May 2016

According to The Sun, I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! winner George is in talks to become a 'social media correspondent' in a bid to keep the show relevant with younger viewers.

This comes after the new judging line-up was confirmed as Simon Cowell, Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger.

A source told the newspaper: "With an ageing judging panel this year, producers hope George can keep younger viewers engaged."

George, 22, initially auditioned for The X Factor as a solo artist before being sent home after boot camp. He was then given a second chance, after Louis Walsh gave him a place in the boy band Triple J. The group then changed their name to Union J and eventually finished in fourth place.

However, following George's I'm A Celebrity win, he decided he wanted to pursue other avenues and and quit Union J in March this year.
