Megan McKenna has said she DOES think there is a TOWIE curse, but she's convinced a strong couple will always beat it.

Since the ITVBe reality show first aired, it has been plagued by the so called 'TOWIE curse' as fans have watched many of the stars' relationships on the show break down. From Lauren Goodger and Mark Wright, to Lucy Meck and Mario Falcone and most recently Lydia Bright and James Arg Argent - romances we thought would go the distance are now no more.

Speaking exclusively to Reveal, Megan believes there is such thing as a curse when it comes to the show, but she's convinced a strong couple will be able to surpass it.

She told us: "There's obviously a TOWIE curse, as so many relationships on the show don't last. It's hard having a relationship in the public eye. There are always people judging you."

Megan is currently dating her co-star Pete Wicks. They first went public with their romance back in March, and after her addition to the show last series, she and Pete decided to make things official between them last month.

Since then, the couple have seemed nothing but smitten. They jetted to Dubai for their first holiday together, and Megan and Pete are often seen looking totally loved-up on Snapchat and Instagram.

Hoping that she and Pete won't fall victim to the TOWIE curse, Megan added: "I don't think it will ever happen... I hope not!"

She said: "If you're a strong couple, you can get through it."

Well, her and Pete definitely seem like they are that.

Not only do things appear to be going extremely well for them so far, they are often seen gushing about each other on social media (even if they do try to insist they're not a "soppy couple") and Pete is always quick to jump to Megan's defence.

Just recently, Pete made sure to stick up for his girlfriend when one Twitter user referred to her as a "kn*b."

Pete hit back: "Actually pal, she ain't, so why don't you pipe down and keep your irrelevant opinion to yourself?" he replied.

If Pete and Megs want proof that you can give the TOWIE curse a run for its money, then they only have to look at Tommy Mallet and Georgia Kousoulou.

They have often played down talk that co-star romances on the show won't last and Georgia has previously said: "I don't believe in the curse."

Sharing the same sentiment as Megan, she said of her and Tommy: "We're so strong that nothing is going to faze us."

And they're still going strong a year-and-a-half later!
