The show sees couples team up together and venture off on a road trip across Europe in a bid to beat the other contestants and not be named the ultimate 'Car Crash Couple'.
Buddying up with your ex and spending endless hours in the confines of a small car together is not something you'd usually ever choose to do, but Holly and Kyle did and it sounds like it all worked out for the best.
Holly and Kyle were forced to reunite for the show just TWO weeks after splitting up and speaking to MTV, Holly admitted it was a little "weird" filming with Kyle.
She said: "Me and Kyle hadn't been speaking... and we didn't know how it was going to turn out, but took it as an opportunity to get our friendship back and have a bit of fun. And that's exactly what we did."
Holly explained: "When it is just the two of us, we do get on like a house on fire and we have such laugh."
They joined four other couples and compared to her co-stars, Holly joked they made her and Kyle appear "relatively normal." All the other couples were American and they weren't strictly dating either, but each had their own issues they were hoping to resolve.
One couple, Alex and Clayton, didn't see eye-to-eye over settling down, while another, Stephanie and Hunter, were struggling to move past Steph's "trust issues", as she believed Hunter had been keeping things from her.
Airing such issues on a road trip may not be the best idea, but spending that intense time together did see to do the trick for Holly and Kyle.
While the pair didn't reunite on the show, Holly revealed things between herself and her former flame are "actually really good."
She said: "We're not together, but we're still friends and when you've been through all of that with somebody, and you have a connection like we do... you don't want them to ever not be in your life.
"Right now, we're just friends and we're really happy with it like that."
Holly and Kyle first got together in series ten of Geordie Shore. Fans saw Kyle finally pluck up the courage to ask Holly out and she became his first ever girlfriend.
However, things hit a rocky patch when the pair jetted out to Greece for series eleven of the show, and Kyle decided he wanted to be single. He grew fed up of his constant rows with Holly and decided to break up with her.
Following their split, the pair continued to argue and flirt, confusing things for not just them but their co-stars too. And in the end, the rest of the house had enough and gave Holly and Kyle an ultimatum: one of them had to go.
Kyle headed home, later revealing he had quit Geordie Shore.
He and Holly, however, did rekindle their romance, but split for a second time in November last year and Holly revealed the pair were no longer speaking.
Any animosity between the pair seems to have gone now, and Kyle recently assured fans he and Holly are now the best of friends. So much so, that he insisted filming Geordie Shore: Big Birthday Battle (he returned for the five year special) with Holly wasn't awkward, and that he'd even like to attend her wedding some day. Only, he won't be the groom...
Car Crash Couples airs Wednesdays at 9pm on MTV.
