Lauren Conrad has claimed producers "told her who to kiss" on The Hills.

Hitting back at the show ahead of its 10-year anniversary, Lauren has spoken out and said that bosses tried to get her to kiss a "rocker guy" while they filmed for series three in Paris.

Speaking to Us Weekly, Lauren said she was so indignant at the suggestion that she should smooch a man she didn't fancy.

She revealed: "In Paris, they wanted me to kiss that boy good night.

"I got into a huge fight with my producer in the lobby! He was like, 'You didn't even give him a kiss good night.' And I was like, 'I don't like that boy — why would I kiss him good night?!'"

Lauren first found fame in MTV's Laguna Beach 12 years ago, before landing the lead role in spin-off show The Hills.

The cameras followed Lauren and her friends - Heidi Montag, Audrina Patridge and Whitney Port - as they set up home and attempted to launch careers in Los Angeles.

However, although fans believed everything they saw on screen, many of the cast have spoken out since it went off air in 2010 to say that some of what was shown had been manipulated.

In her chat with Us Weekly, Lauren - who is now married to lawyer William Tell - also explains that bosses wanted her to get together romantically with co-star Brody Jenner.

But she adds: "I think it was one of those things where producers really wanted us to be together, and we both knew that we didn't really have that kind of chemistry."

In a previous interview with the American publication, Lauren also spoke about her final scenes on the show, that were filmed at Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt's wedding.

Lauren claimed she was "locked in a basement with two security guards" when filming overran and she declared that she had to leave. However, producer Adam DiVello insisted Lauren "might have felt locked in, but she was not".

Meanwhile, last week some of Lauren's Laguna Beach co-stars reunited for a special one-off show on US channel E!.
