Could we see Britain's Got Talent judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams join Simon Cowell on The X Factor panel? Well, he did consider it...

This year's X Factor is on the lookout for three new judges after Nick Grimshaw, Rita Ora and Cheryl all decided to step down from being judge. Their departure leaves just Simon on the show and he recently admitted he did think about calling in his Britain's Got Talent team.

Simon revealed that he debated whether Amanda, Alesha and David should fill the panel's empty seats, but later decided against it, as the egos of his pals would be "unbearable."

Speaking to Closer magazine recently, Simon made the surprising admission. He had been speaking about the BGT judges and his hopes for them all to return next year, when he revealed: "We actually even considered transferring them all on to X Factor, but their egos, if I suggested it, would be unbearable."

Now that would have been a shake up, right?

Rumours have been rife that former X Factor judge Louis Walsh is making a comeback, along with Sharon Osbourne and Nicole Scherzinger.

Andrew Lloyd Webber appeared to confirm Nicole's addition to the panel recently, explaining she had pulled out of her contract to perform in Broadway musical Cats because of her commitments to the show.

The X Factor will also see the return of Dermot O'Leary too. He is back presenting the competition after taking a year hiatus, as both Caroline Flack and Olly Murs decided to quit following just one series.

While The X Factor is set to see a number of changes this time round, it seems Britain's Got Talent will not.

Simon added that the current panel is "as good as we're ever going to get" and has no plans to change it just yet. The music mogul explained: "We all like being on the show and that's what's most important... I hate to admit it, but David is very welcome back next year. The whole panel is!"

Simon's comments rubbished reports from earlier this year, claiming David's spot on the judging panel was in trouble. There had allegedly been "tension" between Simon and David, but a a show insider dismissed such claims as "ridiculous" to The Metro.

Amanda, meanwhile, sparked speculation she could be quitting after the current series. This is her tenth series on the show and she had said last year: "Ten years is an amazing feat. I would love to make it ten and then call it a day."

Has Simon persuaded her to stick around? We hope so!
