Last month, Lauren sparked speculation she and Jake had split after deleting all trace of him from her Instagram account. Just days later, their break up was confirmed by Lauren's rep who assured fans things had ended 'amicably' between the pair.
Now Lauren has opened up on why she chose to end her romance with Jake, admitting he isn't the right guy for her to settle down with.
Lauren confessed that Jake isn't the man she wants to marry of have children with. Speaking to OK! magazine, she explained: "The relationship was quite hard. I felt like I was the one doing everything and putting the effort in. I'm at the age where I'd like to have children but Jake isn't the sort of man I'd want to do it with.
"I want my kids to be surrounded with security and love, and although I think Jake is capable of that, he's just not consistent," Lauren claimed.
The 29-year-old likened her relationship with Jake to her romance with ex-fiancé Mark Wright, and insisted they were both "toxic."
Lauren added: "I don't want that again. I want to find pure love with someone who has nothing but respect for me - until then I'm going to concentrate on myself."
"I don't mean to sound horrible but I'm relieved it's over," she admitted.
Lauren's comments on Jake come after she recently ruled out the pair ever getting back together. They had initially started dating in 2012, but split a year later. Last summer, Lauren and Jake rekindled things.
The couple took a brief break in October, but reunited a month later and had seemed pretty smitten. Lauren even sparked engagement rumours, after referring to Jake as her "one" during a romantic break in the Dominican Republic.
Confirming their split last week, she said: "I can confirm that Jake and I have sadly split. I don't want to go into too much detail because I don't want to sl*g him off, but I don't see us getting back together, put it that way."
