The actress has reprised her role of Sam Mitchell for a special appearance to tie in with Barbara's character Peggy Mitchell's exit storyline.
But speaking on today's Good Morning Britain, she admitted being disappointed her character had no group on-screen interaction with mum Peggy or brother Grant (Ross).
"I was quite upset, really, I think at the time, because I think I, along with the general public, expected to work alongside Barbara and Ross and we don't actually all do anything together at any one time," she said.
Danniella added that "of course" she would have liked her contract extended beyond two weeks.
The star also spoke out about a newspaper claim she was axed from the show for "unprofessional" behaviour that included turning up late and bringing her boyfriend to work.
Danniella vehemently denied the accusations, saying: "I just left work on Saturday. I was only contracted to do two weeks and that was that. My boyfriend drove me into work save me driving every day. He actually works six days a week full time himself. He drove me to work Saturday morning so I didn't have to drive myself."
As for being "repeatedly" late to work, she said: "No I wasn't repeatedly. I was one day, I broke down on the M25."
She added: "I was contracted to do two weeks and I did exactly my contract."
That ties in with what she tweeted yesterday, when she lashed out at the newspaper claim saying: "I had two weeks work 2 do @bbceastenders a funeral to shoot. Nothing with Peggy or Grant. I was not sacked or axed, I just did 4 episodes. The crap story a supposed source has given is just that: CRAP!
"I came back for the 4 episodes they needed me for & my last day was Saturday. I was happy 2 go back 2 EastEnders 4 a few episodes. But I'm ready to call another soap home now. A move north maybe (sic)."
