Ferne McCann could be making the leap from Essex to Hollywood after landing a film role offer while at the Cannes Film Festival.

The former TOWIE star has been soaking up the sun on the French Riviera alongside a slew of world famous actors... and maybe she'll be joining their ranks one day!

Ferne's legal representative Ian Penman told The Mirror: "Ferne does have a film role offer. It's been a great week for Ferne in Cannes."

There are no official details about the role or film yet, but a source told the newspaper that Ferne will be playing a police officer and Wolf of Wall Street star Margot Robbie is also on board. "It's going to be amazing and it's her dream role," said the insider. "She's playing a police woman, it's as you've never seen her before. The film title hasn't been decided yet and it's all at very early stages."

Ferne hasn't alluded to the film role on any of her social media accounts, but she did post to Instagram yesterday: "A kiss from Cannes. Thank you to my beautiful manager @lbamlbam who pushes me and gives me the drive to believe anything is possible! We r fecking magic girl! No dream is too big!"

It's not the first time Ferne's been linked to a Hollywood career. Back in 2015 she told us: "I have actually got a film role lined up. It's not like a huge role, but it's still a role. I went over to Cannes with my manager just so we could finalise a few things and meet with people."

And in January this year, a source told The Sun that Ferne was planning to visit LA to kickstart her movie career. "She's heading to Hollywood for a series of secret meetings with major studios in the hope she can fulfil her dream of becoming a movie star," said a source. "It's what she's dreamed of since she was a little girl and she's ready to take the next step. Film producers have been impressed with what they've seen so far."

Ferne went to theatre school and studied theatre studies at A-level. She previously told us: "Acting has always been what I wanted to do, but obviously you take different paths. I left school and I didn't go to uni. I went travelling, so I ended up doing something different."

She recently appeared in a musical production of The Great Gatsby.
