If you were in central London on Sunday morning you may have noticed a sea of pink-clad women walking past a string of landmarks including Piccadilly Circus, The Mall and Victoria Embankment. The reason? Benefit's annual Bold Is Beautiful Project!
As we reported last month, television star Denise was on hand to lead the 4.5-mile march to raise funds and awareness for Look Good Feel Better and Refuge.
Love the pink Skechers on Denise!
"The sun shone today on what was a true celebration of womanhood," said Denise. "Seeing hundreds of women rallying together to have fun and to make a real difference to the work that Look Good Feel Better and Refuge undertake was just wonderful to see."
It was the second time Benefit Cosmetics had arranged a march through London, drawing nearly 700 women on a scorching hot day when temperatures reached 25-degrees.
This was no ordinary march, however. Contestants were encouraged to start the day with minimal make-up and take advantage of Benefit pop-up glam booths throughout the race, where they could have touch ups to their skin, eyes, lips and eyebrows.
Reveal already brought you the stories of two marchers – Jodie Pullinger and Melanie Clarke – who were raising money for Look Good Feel Better and Refuge respectively. The former charity works with women to help combat the visible side effects of cancer treatment, while Refuge supports women and children escaping domestic violence.
Meanwhile, throughout May, Benefit will be donating 100 per cent of profits from brow waxing services to the charities. Anyone booking a brow wax (£11.50) will receive a free full-size Gimme Brow kit worth £18.50.
The initiative has raised just under £2 million worldwide since its launch last year.
