Tennis coach Natasha – who has appeared on Take Me Out and in TOWIE with her big brother – was accused of cheating when her timings were made public and people realised she'd run the last part of the marathon faster than Mo Farah.
Organisers later confirmed Natasha had contacted them to request her results be removed from the system. She also returned her finisher's medal.
Now, speaking to the new issue of OK! magazine, out today, the 26-year-old explained she'd had a panic attack 14 miles into the race and become disorientated, leading her to accidentally rejoin the race in the wrong direction.
"I had to stop as it felt like I couldn't breathe," she explained, saying she'd briefly stopped running to find a marshall. Once she felt better, she rejoined the race.
But she joined in the wrong direction…
Natasha told the mag – who donated her interview fee to charity - that after running a mile she realised her mistake and went to find another marshall, saying she was lost and how could she return to where she should be.
"He told me there was no way I could go back," she recalled, saying she wasn't sure whether she should stop or keep running, so she just kept going to the finish line.
"I saw my time said under four hours but I was still in a confused state of mind," said Natasha, who has suffered panic attacks since her early 20s. "I should have never taken the finisher's medal. I just felt in a complete panic."
A statement from Virgin Money London Marathon in April said: "Our results team has been in touch with Natasha Argent, along with a small number of other runners, to request an explanation for the missing split times in her results from Sunday's Virgin Money London Marathon. At her request, we have removed her results from the system and she will be returning her finisher's medal to us."
