Josh Cuthbert, JJ Hamblett and Jaymi Hensley have welcomed a new face on board, after George Shelley revealed he had left Union J back in March, earlier this year.

At the time of George's exit, the remaining three boys of Union J confirmed they were planning on looking for a replacement for George to keep the band as a four piece. Fans had been waiting to see who would make the cut, and taking to social media over the weekend, Union J revealed Casey will be joining them going forward.

Tweeting from their official Twitter account (@UnionJWorld), the boys told fans: "We are super excited to welcome Casey to the band! We love this boy and can't wait for the future."

Casey then shared the news himself, tweeting: "EXCITED!!! So happy to have joined @UnionJworld let's smash it lads.. @JaymiUJWorld @JJHamblett @JoshUJWorld."

He was welcomed with open arms by each of his new bandmembers. JJ said he was "excited" to have Casey as a part of Union J, while Jaymi reassured fans they were going to love the new addition.

Josh, meanwhile, tweeted: "Honestly so excited to welcome Casey to the band. He's a genuine adorable fella. So excited to get going. Only thing is he's a spurs fan..."

He added in a second tweet: "You are welcomed with open arms @CaseyCodyJ . We are gonna have a lot of fun my man. Chuffed to bits. #UnionJ."

Casey first found fame, like the rest of Union J, on The X Factor. He initially auditioned as a solo act, before being added to eight piece Stereo Kicks. Stereo Kicks made it to the live finals of the competition.

Following the show they went on to release their debut single 'Love Me So', but split shortly after in July last year. They decided to go their separate ways after failing to land a record deal.

Since then, Jake Sims has embarked on his own solo career, Charlie Jones recently revealed he is joining a new band and flying out to LA to work on new music and Reece Bibby is currently performing in new boy band New Hope Club, who were supporting The Vamps on tour.
