Their romance has made headlines over the last few months, and Charlotte and Gary finally appeared to call it quits when reports claimed he had bedded three other girls while filming Ex On The Beach.
Charlotte vowed to 'stay well away' from Gaz after that, but now he has said things aren't as clean cut as that. Asked where he and Charlotte stand now, Gary recently admitted: "I haven't got a f**king clue."
Everyone had presumed they were dating. Charlotte and Gaz grew closer after spending time together while filming Geordie Shore's Big Birthday Battle. They had started to seem like a couple on social media after leaving the house, but Charlotte has since said she and Gary have always been single.
They were, however, trying to work out if they did have a future together. Gary revealed he was ready to give their relationship a go, but Charlotte had reservations because he had signed up to Ex On The Beach's new series.
She said she would have committed '100 percent' to her co-star, if he had stayed loyal to her during filming, but was later left embarrassed by the reports of Gary's antics. He, meanwhile, hasn't confirmed or denied the rumours surrounding his time out in Thailand, but did suggest there were "two sides to every story."
New reports then accused Charlotte of 'secretly texting her former flame David Hawley' while pursuing things with Gary, but she has since hit out at the claims.
Now, Gary has opened up about where he and Charlotte stand with each other - and admitted he regrets not having a conversation about their relationship before filming Ex On The Beach.
Gary recently told The Sun: "I don't understand, why didn't we speak before I left? Why didn't I say before I went in there, 'Are you my girlfriend? Do you wanna be? Because I need to know before I go on this.'"
He has since been linked to several other girls (including Jem Lucy and Olivia Walsh) who joined him on the dating show and Gary, who is known for his womanising ways, insisted he will do as he please, until he and Charlotte actually put a label on things.
Gary added: "I'll do whatever I want to do unless one of us has the balls to say, 'Let's be in a relationship.' Imagine I did nothing [on Ex on the Beach] and I came back and she was like, 'Nah.' It's very confusing."
The 28-year-old revealed that he and Charlotte have spoken since he returned from Thailand, but only briefly. When asked where they now stand, Gary said he didn't have 'a f**king clue', but if Charlotte wanted to move on from him, he would respect that.
He then claimed that Charlotte is to blame for the breakdown of their romance as much as he is.
Gary has come under fire for his recent actions, with many accusing him of cheating on Charlotte (he slammed such accusations - as he and Charlotte were never together), but has now revealed: "All of a sudden I'm the bad one... There's stuff that happens in this series [of Geordie Shore] that is Charlotte's fault."
He explained: "I was the one saying to her, 'Am I seeing you, am I not?' and she was like, 'No, no, see what happens.' Unless I'm in a relationship, I'm f**king single."
