Unlikely pals? Jordan Davies has been spotted gushing about Geordie Shore star Aaron Chalmers on social media.

Scrolling through our Twitter feeds, we couldn't help but double take when we came across this photo of Jordan planting a smacker on Aaron's cheek. It's not exactly what we expected to see knowing that the boys have both dated the same girl... Marnie Simpson.

Are Jordan and Aaron friends?

Well, according to Jordan's Twitter, it's not that he and Aaron were never friends, it's just that they have never met. And, obviously, both being romantically linked to Marnie had us presuming they wouldn't exactly be buddying up.

BUT, proving us all wrong, it seems like Jordan couldn't have been happier to finally have been introduced to Aaron.

He told his followers: "Good to finally meet this geezer the other night @AaronCGShore such a messy night."

Jordan's photo of the pair come after Marnie recently ruled out any romance between herself and the Ibiza Weekender star. Perhaps that's why Aaron was happy to cosy up Jordan, then?

Marnie has said that Jordan is like a "brother" to her, not a boyfriend. She explained: "He's just my friend. He's like a lovable brother or a gay best friend, except he's not gay. Romantically, I'm not interested. He's just a lovely boy and I enjoy his company."

She and Jordan had first sparked romance rumours on Valentine's Day, after being spotted kissing on a date together. It was later revealed that Aaron had planned to take Marnie out for Valentine's, but later learned she had plans with someone else.

After that, he declared their romance was "dead in the f**king water", but fans hopes of Marnie and Aaron giving their relationship a go were rekindled as the pair continued to fuel rumours they were getting together.

Marnie had also admitted she felt "guilty" about kissing Jordan. She said: "I felt really guilty [about kissing Jordan], but I didn't think [Aaron would] be that bothered. I've never seen that side to him. I was shocked. He wouldn't speak to me for about three weeks."

Despite the pair then dropping the L-bomb to each other on Geordie Shore's current series, Marnie and Aaron appeared to confirm their romance isn't actually going anywhere after all.

Marnie had shut down the idea of dating Aaron on Twitter. She tweeted: "That ship has sailed."

Aaron appeared to agree, tweeting several boat emojis in reply.
