Jodie Marsh has admitted her split from husband James Placido has been "tough", but she insists you won't find her "crying over a man."

Earlier this week, Jodie announced she and James have ended their marriage, eight months after they tied the knot in Barbados in August last year.

Her news shocked fans as the former bodybuilder had often been seen gushing about married life, but Jodie has since reassured her followers on social media she "will always be ok."

Taking to Instagram last night (21 April), Jodie posted a new selfie and showed off plenty of side boob as she posed in her revealing Care Bear onesie. Alongside her photo, she joked: "When you have a Care Bear onesie; life is kinda complete."

She then turned her attentions to her break up and thanked fans for their support since she announced her separation from 25-year-old James.

Opening up about the split, Jodie continued: "Of course this has been tough. It's actually been one of the worst weeks of my life! But I'll be darned if I'm going to sit here crying over a man and I'm NOT going to fall apart.

"I need to carry on as normal and I need to keep busy (and if keeping busy means taking pictures of my care bear onesie then so be it). I haven't come this far in life to be knocked down and made to feel crap! I have ten amazing animals who need me and who are now getting even more love than ever before and I am enjoying catching up with friends. I'm a fighter; you know this."

Jodie added: "I will always be ok, no matter what life throws at me."

Her comments come after Jodie recently revealed there was "nothing left to fight for" when it came to her marriage.

She hasn't given any indication of what prompted the split, but when a fan suggested Jodie tried to work things out with James, she revealed she "wants out" of their relationship.

Jodie replied: "I've tried believe me. There's nothing to fight for. I want out. You don't know what's happened but thanks anyway xx."

The 37-year-old has since likened herself to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, after reading reports Cheryl is eager to drop her married name. Jodie tweeted: "I feel you Cheryl."

Cheryl is currently divorcing her husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini who she married back in 2014.

Jodie, meanwhile, had surprised fans when she revealed she and James had tied the knot. She had kept their relationship and engagement secret, only revealing they had married once they had said 'I do.'

She later explained she and James had purposely chosen to keep their big day private, as they wanted to get married for them and no-one else.

James hasn't publicly commented on their split.
