Doctor Foster star Jodie will front the sequel to the acclaimed historical TV drama The White Queen, which will air in the U.S. in a collaboration between the BBC and Starz.
Deadline reports that Jodie will play princess Elizabeth - the eldest daughter of Edward IV and Elizabeth Woodville - who is forced into marriage with Henry VII and faces a conflict of loyalties with her mother.
Jodie is best known for several TV roles, notably playing Chloe Gemell in comedy-drama series My Mad Fat Diary.
Last year she starred alongside Suranne Jones in hit BBC One drama Doctor Foster as 22-year-old Kate Parks who had an affair with Gemma's husband Simon.
More recently, viewers have watched Jodie's much-raved about performance as Ivy Moxam in BBC Three's Thirteen. The drama, which premiered in February, focused on Ivy, who after 13 years of being held captive by her kidnapper, escapes and reunites with her family and attempts to piece her life back together.
It was recently revealed that Thirteen racked up 2.4m requests on iPlayer, matching Sherlock which had 2.4m requests in January.
