Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby has appeared to rule out any hopes of romance with her co-star Gary Beadle right now, insisting the pair are "good friends" instead.

Fans will know that since filming Geordie Shore's five year special, Charlotte and Gary appeared to pick up their on/off romance. The co-stars had looked like they were a couple on social media, sharing gushy tweets and Instagram posts about each other and Charlotte had hinted at a relationship with Gary.

She shunned reports their romance was for publicity and told fans she and Gary both 'do feel ready' to make a go of things.

However, the pair hadn't actually put a label on their relationship and had been trying to work out if they had a future privately. Charlotte had shared her concerns over dating Gary, explaining that she still doesn't trust him following their tumultuous history together on Geordie Shore.

Despite that, there's no denying she and Gary had grown closer and Charlotte was reduced to tears, after falling out with him over rumours he had 'propositioned another girl.' Reports claimed Gary had asked another girl back to his hotel room while linked to Charlotte, but he strongly denied this and explained it had been misconstrued on Snapchat.

Charlotte didn't agree with Gary airing their issues so publicly and hit back at him on Twitter. She explained she was finding it difficult to move forward with Gary, as he had signed up for the new series of Ex On The Beach while telling her he wanted a relationship with her.

Gary is now thought to be filming for the show overseas, but MTV have made no comment on his appearance.

Now, Charlotte has insisted she is 'single.' She revealed she is not in a relationship and doesn't have her eye on anyone right now. When asked about Gary, given what's been going on with them the last few months, she told The Sun: "Obviously I have a soft spot for Gary, but we don't get to see each other enough because of work, so I can't really pursue it."

Charlotte shared the same sentiment when we caught up with her recently, ahead of the release of her new diet guide Live Fast Lose Weight.

She exclusively told us she doesn't have "any update" on the pair, but added: "We were never together."

Addressing reports her romance with Gary was back on track (she and Gaz were seen sharing a steamy kiss in bed together on Snapchat), Charlotte told us everyone had "jumped to conclusions."

"We had that bit of a fallout [on Twitter], but we weren't together then either," she told us. "We then spent some time together when we had to film the advert [for Geordie Shore] and we had to film it in an actual bed."

Charlotte continued: "Everyone jumped to conclusions, yet again. Nothing has ever been going on with me and Gary, we are good friends."

When we asked if she thinks romance could develop for the duo in the future, Charlotte told us: "I just don't know... it's hard to speak about him because I just don't know."

Charlotte's comments come after MTV recently revealed Gary will leave the house. They shared a new video to Twitter showing Gaz struggling to deal with being in a relationship and getting close to Charlotte.

After she clashes with Marnie Simpson, Gaz comforts Charlotte and appears to kiss her in the clip. He is then seen telling his co-stars: "As long as I live with her, that flame is never going to go out." And he then leaves the house to "sort his head out."

Charlotte told us she had no idea Gary had left because of her. She said: "I know mine and Gary's history, but I never ever thought he was going to finish with Lillie. I thought that those two were going to get married and have children."

"At the time, I realised we were getting closer, but it wasn't in a bad way - we weren't doing anything wrong against Lillie. It felt more as friends... I just wanted him to come back. I hated being in the house without him."

Charlotte's diet guide Live Fast, Lose Weight is released on Thursday 21 April and priced £14.99.
