The singer, from Croydon, took to the stage in Manchester for the first night of his tour on Friday night.
He tweeted after the show: "Sooo proud of my #haeniacs of Manchester!! You lot were AMAZING!! And I nearly cried when you all got them signs out!!!"
Ben's return to the stage comes three months after he parted ways with Syco. Following a revised set of tour dates, Ben will perform at Manchester, Newcastle, Glasgow, Ipswich, Birmingham, Bristol and Sheffield.
Ben won the 11th series of The X Factor in 2014 and got a Number 1 hit with his rendition of One Republic's 'Something I Need'.
After signing to Simon Cowell's record label Syco, he headed out to Los Angeles to record his debut self-titled album, and released 'Second Hand Heart', a duet with Kelly Clarkson, almost a year later in October 2015.
But in January this year, Ben parted ways with Syco. The news came as a surprise to fans as former van driver Ben had only released his debut album two months before.
Earlier this month, Ben told The Croydon Advertiser: "We broke up! I can't sugarcoat it, it wasn't what I wanted. They are a huge label and it's a numbers game for them."
Ben, who said he didn't have a chat with Simon beforehand, added: "I haven't had a face-to-face meeting with Simon Cowell, but I didn't expect flowers. I was disappointed, but there are no ill feelings there."
Announcing his departure from the label at the time, Ben said: "Working with The X Factor and Syco has been the most amazing time of my life and has given me the best possible platform for the start of my career. I have the upmost respect for them both and cannot thank them enough for all the help and everything they have done for me this past year.
"I have had the privilege of working with some incredible people, making some great friends and making a great record which I am still extremely proud of. (Which, thanks to you lot has gone on to sell over 100k copies and still going!) However, after discussions with the Syco team we both felt it was the right time to move on."
