Little Mix have announced their new single will be 'Hair', the third track taken from their album Get Weird, but could it be about Perrie Edwards' ex Zayn Malik?

Fans were given a first look at 'Hair' way back in August, just weeks after reports revealed Perrie and Zayn had called off their engagement and split after dating for four years.

Zayn has openly admitted that his music on his debut solo album, Mind On Me, *is* about Perrie and on hearing the track, fans started to put two and two together and instantly linked 'Hair' to the former One Direction star as it's the ultimate break up anthem...

It's got so much sass, it's all about the girl power and it's basically about shaking off all those wrong doers and moving on.

Plus, Perrie has reportedly helped to pen the track and she did previously hint Zayn could have been her inspo behind it. The lyrics are pretty direct in the song and she, Jesy Nelson, Jade Thirlwall and Jesy Nelson sing: "He was just a d*** and I knew it / Got me going mad sitting in this chair / I don't care / Gotta get him out my hair."

In an interview with Total Access back in October the Little Mix girls explained the meaning behind 'Hair', after coming under fire for using the word 'd**k' in their lyrics.

Jade said: "Well you know sometimes when you break-up with someone they are that word so it's alright to say in a song."

And Perrie, without directly referencing Zayn, added: "Yeah it is. He was just a b***end... and I knew it."

Taking to Twitter on Monday (11 April), Perrie, Jade, Jesy and Leigh-Anne revealed 'Hair' will be their next single, and naturally, fans began to speculate yet again about Zayn being behind the tune.

However, our friends at Sugarscape revealed last year that it actually isn't. Yup, Perrie dismissed such claims live on air with Ryan Seacrest back in November.

He asked her point blank if the song was about her break up and Perrie replied: "People like to write a lot of crap. Basically you say something and it gets taken out of context and then it makes a headline, but what they didn't work out was we wrote the album before that happened."
