Fans had been excited by the reality stars' blossoming romance, after Vicky and Spencer enjoyed several dates together in recent months. Things had appeared to be hotting up between the pair, after they jetted off to Monaco for a weekend away together, but it recently came to light that Vicky had ended things with her Chelsea beau.
The 28-year-old had shared her concerns over Spencer's womanising past and because of that, she told us she had been "deliberately standoffish."
We caught up with Vicky ahead of her being revealed as the new face of Ann Summers and when conversation turned to her I'm A Celebrity campmate, Spencer, she said: "I'm all about self-preservation and I don't want to look stupid."
"Obviously I'm flying the flag for strong, sassy women everywhere and the whole dating Spencer Matthews thing is not good for that image," Vicky confessed. "Being cheated on by Spencer Matthews is even less good for that image so I think I'm being deliberately standoffish in that relationship."
She added: "I don't think it will really go anywhere because I am being very cautious. I think that's fair and he is understanding of it as well. He is a nice guy and neither of us are putting any pressure on each other. And I don't want to put myself in a position where I dislike him or anything.
"He's gorgeous and handsome and it's a real shame but you've got to look after number one, haven't you? And I'm desperate not to be on that list of girls..."
Instead, Vicky has decided to call things quits with Spenny.
Spencer revealed that he had been 'friend-zoned' by the Geordie Shore favourite in a recent interview with The Sun. The former Made In Chelsea star revealed: "She sat me down at the end of Monaco and expressed her concerns that being in a full-blown relationship with me could be a little bit dangerous. My track record is not ideal."
Gushing about Vicky, he then added: "I love her character, she's very fiery, she's beautiful, I love her Geordie accent and she's a doer. I've dated some girls in the past who aren't doers and it gets a little boring and I imagined dating Vicky would be very exciting.
"I respect her decision, I understand it. I think it's sensible."
Vicky and Spencer first met while starring together on last year's series of I'm A Celebrity. They both entered the jungle as latecomers, but their time together was cut short after Spencer was forced to leave camp early. Vicky went on to win the show.
She has since jetted off on holiday and has had fans speculating whether she is set to appear on the new series of Ex On The Beach. It had teased series five would see stars from the past return, but Vicks assured us she won't be one of them...
