Posting a photo showing a glimpse of his script, Ross teased: "Spending time getting ready for Walford #EastEnders @bbceastenders #mitchellsreunited."

It was just last month that Extreme World star Ross admitted he was "wetting himself" at the thought of going back to the soap.

Ross told Radio Times: "I'm panicking about everything. About whether I've lost the ability to learn all the lines. About whether I can cope with it at all…I worry about letting people down, letting myself down. That's my biggest fear. It's going to be like going back to sixth form."

Ross' highly anticipated return as Grant is expected to be a ratings hit for the soap as fans have been desperate to see him return to Walford and reunite with his brother Phil.

Ross' return as Grant ties in with Barbara Windsor's exit as Peggy Mitchell, who will lose her battle with cancer. Danniella Westbrook will also be briefly surprising her role as Sam Mitchell.
