As plans for The X Factor's new series gets underway, rumours Louis will be joining the show once again have been rife. Especially after the Irish music mogul has jetted off to LA to meet with Simon Cowell to discuss his comeback.
According to The Mirror, the pair are likely to strike a deal while Louis is across the pond.
A source told the paper: "Simon met Dermot O'Leary in Los Angeles last week and a few days later he was announced as the show host. It is no coincidence that Louis is in LA spending time with Simon too."
They added: "If the meeting goes well and there are no last minute hitches then Louis will almost certainly be a judge again. It's just a case of juggling the judging panel."
Ever since he left the show last year, it has been widely speculated that Louis could be making a return. It was even rumoured he was going to be drafted in as a fifth judge for the live shows of last series, but that never did materialise.
Following last year's final, Simon has already made several changes to The X Factor - prompting more rumours that Louis could return.
Both Caroline Flack and Olly Murs will not return as host, and will be replaced by Dermot O'Leary. He had originally quit last year after eight years presenting the show.
Judge Nick Grimshaw also stepped down from the panel.
Just last month, it was reported Louis was in talks with Simon for an £800,000 return deal.
However, X Factor was quick to deny this had been the case and dismissed the reports as simply speculation. A representative for the show had said: "No offer has been made."
