When Love Island's Jon, 25, joined the show for the 17th series, he wasted no time in confessing he rather fancied Chloe, making us all wonder if a new Essex power couple was in the making.
Well, it appears not…
On last night's episode, Chloe told the girls that she couldn't see things progressing further with Jon, especially after watching the sizzling chemistry between Megan McKenna and Pete Wicks on their recent double date.
Chloe, 33, said she'd had fun on the date but said: "Pete and Megan's chemistry was on fire. They couldn't take their eyes off each other or hands off each other. It felt like we was gate crashing their moment!"
She added: "I want him to have that. He's young, he deserves it. Don't put energy into me because I haven't got time to waste."
Jon agreed, telling the boys separately: "I have the vibe me and Chloe are done now. That is now out of the picture."
Jon took Chloe to a museum for their first date, following up with a romantic meal, where he admitted he was feeling really nervous she was about to friendzone him.
He told her: "I've been super nervous today because obviously we haven't spoken much in the last couple of days. I thought you were going to come here and friend zone me which is why I'm so nervous."
Chloe had warned him during dinner not to rush things, saying: "I don't want you to end up putting too many things into something that is so new and early. It's all well and good going out on dates with younger guys as I do have a young personality, but I only date people when I can kind of see some kind of future with them."
Jon responded: "I can be grown up. You keep saying it but I don't think you're too much older than me. We laugh for hours which I love about you as well."
Realising he'd dropped an accidental L bomb, he hastily amended his phrasing: "Which I like about you, I cant believe I just said that!"
"I like you enough to try to prove to you more I could be someone you could potentially care about as a friend or more," he added. "There is more to me than f**king around in a museum dressed as a Roman."
