The former Atomic Kitten star hit out today after reading an article which claimed Bingo With Kerry was a "mortifying addition" to her CV. The article questioned whether she should be encouraging people to part with their money through bingo given her financial past.
Kerry declared herself bankrupt in 2008 and 2013.
Kerry, 35, retaliated via Twitter, saying: "Why do you feel the need to put me down? Negativity is like a disease. If you don't get rid of it, it will consume you.
"Why you find the need to try and bring me down I don't know! It's like you go out your way! Very sad!"
"I'm a mother of 5 beautiful children who I have 2 provide for! Which I do alone! I'm very proud of my bingo site"
"If at some point you find yourself the victim of someone else's negativity. Just remember it could be worse... you could b that person!"
Kerry was backed up by her mother, Sue, who tweeted at her: "Baby your doing a fantastic job bringing 5 beautiful kids up by yourself I might add...love ya's xx sic)."
Her eldest children Molly, 14, and Lilly-Sue, 13, also got in on the action, firing back from their own Twitter accounts in defence of their popstar mum.
Molly said the article was "so irrelevant to our minds and this world", while Lilly accused the piece of taking things to a "whole new level by slagging off [a] single mother [of] 5 who is doing everything she can to provide and support her children!"
Kerry is also mum to daughters Heidi, eight, and Dylan, two, and son Max, seven.
She split from third husband George Kay in October.
