The 31-year-old explains in the latest episode of her Kocktails With Khloe chatshow that the only reason she signed for the E! series was to promote her Dash clothing store.
Khloe (in a clip posted to US Weekly) says that after her father Robert Kardashian passed away, she really struggled to find her footing, so big sister Kourtney, 35, suggested she run an adult clothing store, after Kourtney had already opened a kids' shop.
"Kourtney had a children's clothing store and at the time, another boutique opened up, Kourtney was like, we're taking the rent, we'll just take it. We're going to open a women's clothing store, and you're going to run it," she recalled.
"I just needed structure. I needed something to do every day. And that turned into Dash."
Meanwhile, her other big sister, Kim, 33, was busy meeting Ryan Seacrest with mum Kris Jenner, to talk about launching their own reality show, which later became Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
The one catch? It was either the whole family or no show at all.
Khloe said: "Kim and my mum really wanted to do the TV show, and Kourtney and I, all we wanted to do was the kids' store and Dash. That's all we wanted. Ryan Seacrest was like,' I only want you guys on if it's a family show,' so we said, 'If you film at the store, and it's our commercial, then we'll be on it.'"
Keeping Up With The Kardashians launched in 2007 and is now in its 11th series.
As well as making household names of the Kardashian clan, it has spawned several E! spinoff shows, including the memorable Kim's Fairytale Wedding, documenting Kim's nuptials to now-ex-husband Kris Humphries.
