In a now-deleted tweet, a user appeared to take a swipe at Chloe's age and her potential blossoming romance with Jon Clark.
Chloe took to Twitter and referenced Cheryl Fernandez-Versini's new romance with Liam Payne while also implying that this wasn't the first time she had received a message like this.
She tweeted: "Why do people keep trying to age shame me? Did you message @CherylOfficial too?"
Chloe, who later called the words "spiteful", was inundated with messages from fans who spoke out to show their support for the mum-of-one.
One said: "There's no age limit on TV? Chloe is fab and it wouldn't be the same if she left."
Another said: "Age is only a number. You're a beautiful woman, inside and out. Sod them!"
Meanwhile, one fan tweeted: "@Chloe_Sims why is age an issue if your both happy who cares! You make a lovely couple #ageisjustanumber"
The user appeared to clarify the comments later on, with Chloe acknowledging it, before tweeting: "TOWIE is my job, so maybe think before you go out of your way to tweet."
During Sunday's episode of TOWIE, Jon and Chloe spent some time together on a casual date to a museum, but at the Greek party he promised her another date would be on the cards.
TOWIE series finale airs Wednesday 11 November at 10pm on ITVBe.
