Former Coronation Street actress Michelle is currently filming for the brand new five-part series which will follow the British Army on a posting in contemporary Kenya.
BBC have released a first look photo of Michelle as Corporal Georgie Lane.
She headed out to Kenya this month to film for the series, which is fictionally set in South Africa.
Speaking about the part, Michelle told The Mirror: "First time I put on the uniform it felt quite surreal but then I immediately felt the sense of duty - as if I was in the military."
The first series starred Lacey Turner as young recruit Molly Dawes in Afghanistan, but Lacey's commitments as Stacey Branning in EastEnders meant she was unable to return for another series.
In January, Michelle told Reveal that she wanted to bulk up for her role.
"I've met lots of female medics and heard their stories," she told us. "I'm obviously doing a bit of training myself in the gym and trying to get fit. You'd think I have to diet, but if anything I want to put on a bit of bulk, so I'm eating quite a lot at the minute."
Our Girl first starred on BBC One as a one-off special in March 2013. It returned in September 2014 as a five-episode series.
