As American Idol alumni, we're sure it was a pretty nostalgic moment for Adam, and his new single is pretty catchy too, right?

'Welcome To The Show' features Swedish vocalist, Laleh, and Adam described it as a "new, uplifting anthem for the spring".

Speaking to Idol host Ryan Seacrest on Thursday, Adam said: "Laleh, what an amazing songwriter. She is so talented, and we just wrote a banger and I'm so pumped."

Adam rose to fame in 2009 when he auditioned on the eighth series of the show and he's gone on to have an incredibly successful career.

Adam is heading to the UK in June with Queen to headline this year's Isle of Wight Festival.

American Idol, which ends for good after this current series, is being broadcast in the UK exclusively on 4Music every Monday and Tuesday from 8pm.
