Marnie and Ricky enjoyed a whirlwind romance last year, that led to the pair getting engaged on camera. Three months after Ricky's proposal, though, he and Marnie split and she has said she doesn't think the former TOWIE star is 'genuine.'
Opening up about her ex recently, Marnie told BANG Showbiz: "At the time I did love him and I did think he was a genuine person, but now, when I look back and the way he is going on now with everything, I don't think he was."
It's not the first time Marnie has publicly slammed her former flame, as she recently revealed getting engaged to Ricky was the 'biggest mistake she ever made.'
"I got engaged... and then it all went downhill. I would go as far to say it was probably the biggest mistake I've ever made in my life," she said. "Only because I feel like [Ricky] was full of sh*t," she continued. "He did it for one reason only and that was to get me off Geordie Shore."
Learning a lesson from her failed relationship with the Essex boy, Marnie has said she now won't rush into anything when it comes to her love life.
She added: "I won't jump into anything too quickly. I'll always make sure that I take things slow. If you have something that is really serious, don't be so public about it. If it's serious and personal not everyone needs to know."
While Marnie did leave Geordie Shore after getting engaged to Ricky, she has since returned to the MTV reality show following their break up.
Fans will see her return in the current series and Marnie has teased she picks up her on/off romance with her co-star Aaron Chalmers - even if he does currently have his sights set on newcomer Chantelle Connelly on the show.
In this series, things seem to go well for Aaron and Marnie and he recently revealed he was keen to pursue their romance on the outside, after filming, once they had left the house.
However, it all ended on a sour note when Marnie chose to go on a date with Ibiza Weekender star Jordan Davies instead.
Aaron has since said his romance with Marnie is "f**king dead in the water," but Holly Hagan isn't so convinced.
She exclusively told Reveal: "Aaron and Marnie have this thing where they try and get one over one each other, but they always come back together."
Geordie Shore continues Tuesday 22 March at 10pm on MTV.
